“The churn is one of the most useful instruments . . .”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)When the cows are milked the milk is strained and put into a clean milk pan until the following morning. Then the cream is put into a separate pan.
This is done every morning and night until there is enough cream to churn. The churn cream is washed with boiled water. Then the cream is put into the churn. The handle is kept turning until the cream is turned into butter.
When the people are churning if person came in he would have to take part in the churning. This is called "greas" at the churn.- Bailitheoir
