    Long ago, it was a custom, to set up a fire near the shores, and hail the ships to come ashore.
    About this time there lived a man in Glennagiveny who became a butler on a ship called the Merry Snow.
    Before he left home he took a man with him to the Glen' Bay and told him to be ready with some other men from around and be at the shore on a certain date.
    One night about a week later the ship came near the shore and the Glennagiveny people who were waiting on the shore set up a great fire: and the butler on the ship said that this was his home, and told the Captain to go into that bay as it
