- There was an old man who lived in Lower Cooley at a place called Scarlet. His name was the "Darkies[?] of Mullins". This place was always supposed to be a great place for fairies. Often when this old man would be coming home from fairs and markets the fairies would pull and haul him about throwing him into the bushes and pulling him out. He never noticed them. In the end he took sick and was bedfast. There was no milk in the house for him to drink. It happened to be a fair day in Moville. In the evening there came a big black cow to the street and walking into the byre. His daughter(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
