- In this district and there are three rocks where mass was said in the Penal Days.
1. "Cnoc an t-Sagairt" in Derryheriff. This stone is now almost hidden in heather.
2. "Cnoc na h-Altóra" in Feymore. There are still the remains of nails stuck into the rock.
3. "Carraig an Aifrinn" in Carnamaddy.
This is a rock in the face of a round hill. There are pieces of nails still stuck into the cracks of the rock. An old story, but true, connects Carraig an Aifrinn with Doe Chapel. Cashelmore. This is the Parish Chapel, and was built by Father Rodan in 1785. A stone in the chapel still bears this date and Father Rodan's name. This priest is buried under the Altar in this chapel, and his relations the Rodans of Cloonmore still live on the farm beside the chapel.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
