Ar an leathanach seo

The local people help one another by lending, horses, ploughs and harrows and in some cases they give away potatoes they do not want.
The seed potatoes are placed about 8" apart in the furrows. A plough is run through the drill and the clay falling in on the furrows covers the seed.
The weeds are removed by means of a grubber. The stalks are clayed by running a plough through the furrows. This is done again before they are dug up. The stalks are sprayed washing soda and blue stone so as to prevent blight. They are sometimes sprayed secondly.
When the stalks are withered the potatoes are dug up with a spade. The digger works backwards as he goes and leaves the potatoes in a long line in front of him. The picker then comes and picks the potatoes into(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
