   with spots. The nest is very neatly built with straws and lined with feathers. The water hen as she is called is a fairly big black bird with a yellow beak. This bird builds its nest by the water edge. The nest is usually made of rushes. The birds food consists of insects which are to be found in the river and on the bank. I think the birds lays about two eggs but I am not sure I have never found a water hens nest.

   Another bird which is to be found near the river is the wild duck. This bird is fairly big with webbed feet. It is a very beautiful bird, particularly the drake. The ducks are much the same as our own take drakes and ducks.

   Now we will take the pigeon. This is a fairly big bird and is very swift in flight. It lays two fairly big white eggs.
