  1. The old school in Clonea were not the same as they are now and were not situated in the same place.
    The first school in Clonea was in the graveyard in from the church. It was just inside the wall at the bridge. It was a very old school and is said to be there when the hedge schools were in this districts country.
    When the church was being built in Clonea that was knocked.
    Then the school was held in the village in one of the Flynn's houses. This school was something better than the first one. The master there was Mr Flannery.
    He was paid by every pupil giving so much to him but he was besides that too. That school only lasted a few years and then the present schools were built sixty eight year ago.
