- The name of my townland is Whitestown. It is in the parish of Clonea and the name of the barony in which it is situated is "Upper Thind" There are nineteen families in Whitestown numbering ninety four people. Powers are the most numerous people in it. There is only one or two thatched houses in my townland and the rest slated except a couple of ironed roofed houses. Houses were not as numerous in former times as they are now.There are not any ruined houses in this townland.There did not many people from this district go America in former years.The land is fairly hilly and most of it is dry. It is good for corn and many other crops. There is a wood in this townland. It is small(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
