  1. An Old Song - Carbally Hill (ar lean)

There is a dear little spot I've loved since a child,

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
    (III)
There's Summerville too with its green shady lawn,
And its mansion so lordly and grand
While sheltered by trees from the cold winter breeze
That blow indirect from the strand
There's the frail fishing smack with its canvas outspread
Tacking merrily on to the breeze
As outward she's bound to a new fishing ground
Her tackle and nets to appease.
Her crew they were hard working men of the soil
Who love to do things with a will
When their harvests is reaped into port they will steer
And drop anchor below the Old Mill.
    (IIII)
That dear little spot I have never forgot
Though all my companions are dead
With whom I used play and a visit would pay
To a place called the old Oyster Bed
Now my heart often yearns for the times to return
To my friends and companions of old
That dear little spot I once called my home that dear little spot I adore
Farewell and for aye to Tramore and the bay
To the castles the head and the strand
And to Carbally Hill I'm loving you still
Though I'm now in a far foreign land.
