    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    During the year of 1917 in the Great War a merchant vessel called the Lincolnshire was torpedoed by a German Submarine. Some steam trawler patrol boat came to her assistance. A destroyer started to tow it to Queenstown but the water was coming in and when it got into the engine room the boat was between Ballymacaw and Brownstown. Suddenly the boilers burst and the boat blew up with a terrible explosion. A large number of navy men were aboard besides the crew and naturally they were all drowned.
