  2. A poor man was walking along the road. He saw a farmer in a field. He asked the farmer for a penny but was refused. The man went until he came to a small house. He went in and asked for a penny. The woman had only two half-pennies which she gave him. Next morning the woman, having got up, was surprised to see a shilling on the window.
