- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)used to be pulled up and down until the churn was made. The people knew when the churning was made by the dish because it used to come out perfectally clean. There was then a mug of cold water put into the churn to gather the butter. It used to take about an hour to make the churning, and when it was made it was rocked backwards and forwards to gather the butter. There was then a little spade to take out the butter and when it was taken out it was mixed up and down until all the buttermilk was taken out of it. Then the butter was made into little prints.
