- The father and mother and one little girl were living together happily, until the little girl was about three years of age. Then the mother died leaving her orphan to be cared by her father, but he got married again, and the second wife was very cruel to the little girl. From the beginning she treated the child badly, but as years passed she became more and more cruel to her.His second wife's family consisted of three little girls, the oldest had but one eye the second had two eyes, and the youngest had three eyes, so they were nick-named One Eye, Two Eye, and Three Eye.
