  1. The name of our village is Derrylahan. There are seven houses in it now but about twelve years ago there were eleven houses in it. The most common name in it was Ryans. There is only one family of Ryans left in it at present; all the others have died out; but in the village adjoining there are two other families of that name. About sixty or seventy years ago the Ryans came to Derrylahan from Tipperary and occupied most of the village. Patrick Waldron is the oldest person living in Derrylahan now and he is seventy nine years of age last June. His wife is seventy eight. Both of these can tell stories in English. Mr. Michael Ryan is seventy five and his brot-
