- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)There is another weed called the dock, which grows in the garden. This is not a very harmful weed, either. It is sometimes used as a cure for a nettle sting, by being pressed to the sore and left on it for a few minutes.
- The Irish had names on every herb in the country, long ago. For instance the root of a lily was called the "boharon". It was a cure for a boil. The center of a dock leaf cures "a burned tongue." If they are boiled, dandelion are a cure for stomach trouble. Mushrooms are very nourishing if they are gathered before the sun rises and then eaten. There is a weed called shevlock which is injurious to oats
