  1. Long ago the people wore no boots, except in Winter. These boots were made from the untanned skins of animals. When they killed an animal they skinned it and made the boots themselves. The rich people roughly tanned the skins themselves and brought a shoemaker to the house, who made boots for the grown up people. He also made clogs for them. Clogs were
