- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The rooms were decorated with costly and rare paintings and were very spacious. They had lovely gardens and magnificent flowers grew in them. Here and there were lovely marble statues pillars.
In the castle were lords and Ladies who had feasts and banquets every day. They used to entertain people and go boating in the river Brick. Their food each day consisted of a huge bullock some fat sheep and dozens of wild foul.
The Fitzmaurice made heroic but unsuccessful attempts to run the river under the windows of the castle so that they could fish from them. The mark of the attempt to do this is still to be seen.
The Fitzmaurice were very cruel people. The following is an instance of their cruelty. One day the daughter of one of the Lords who lived in the castle said to her(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
