    the south.The doors were fastened with a spun -yarn in some cases and in others with bolts and bars.According to the apartments there were windows in the houses.I do not know what they had before glass.The floor was of mortar or earth.there was a half-door in every house .Turf was always used.Bogdeal was used for light at night.Candles were made in the district.They were made of sheep's tallow and the wick of rushes.The people made the candles themselves.In the houses long ago people had shelves in the wall and the hens came in and they laid their eggs on these shelves.
