    There was no fair play only strength. They made the ball themselves of thread and leather. It used be a big ball about as big as a small sized bowl. They had no posts in olden times. The strongest team brought the ball home. Their hurleys were called "spocks". They made them themselves. I do not know who was the greatest hurler. They played handball, bowls, flinging the sledge, and throwing big heavy stones long ago. Bowling was played on the roads.
