    not shoe cattle.he made horse-shoes ,gates ,and farm implements,and repaired machinery,he worked in the open air while shoeing horses and asses .There are no sayings about smiths.the water he used for cooling the irons was used to cure chilblains ,but there is no use made of the bits of iron which fly from the anvil.The smith had a great name long ago.The smith had cures for horses. There was once a big strong smith whose name was Mr.Kennedy.he was also famous as a poet as well as being a smith.
