Ar an leathanach seo
- Ballinaglera was formerly called Clarkestown but no Clarke lived there in living memory.
This a small townland - about 148 acres containing eight families bounded on the N. and East by the Shannon, on the West by Ballyhurley on the South by Carlincore.
Michael O'Connor had one of the nicest places in this townland - died about 1880 succeded by Martin O'Connor - died 1891.
The O'Connors had a nice old garden with flowers and fruit in abundance - also an ancient summerhouse made by a sort of dug out like a cave, cool in summer.
There is a round hill 10 feet high surrounding it in which grew a row of large trees mostly ash and sycamore - There were walks and steps covered over with rose bushes and an old red sundial nicely carved by BRIAN TIGHE a school master of that period. There was an overhanging tree with ivy on it - which was a favourite place for children(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
