    is sown upon it. Then the potatoes are dropped in a row across the ridge and covered with clay. Sometimes the furrows are cut and clay shovelled upon the potatoes.
    Digging and Storing.
    Small and big farmers who have potatoes in ridges dig them with a spade. When evening arrives they prepare a place for a heap and then they gather the large ones. Most of the small rubbish is taken home for the pigs. When all is gathered they are covered with rushes and clay. Big farmers who have their potatoes in drills have three ways to dig them. One way is they grub the alleys and then dig with a spade. others run the plough along the drills and throw out the potatoes and mould
