  1. The animals kept around a farmer's house are cows, pigs, calves, horses, sows, donkeys, sheep and goats. The women keep hens, turkeys, chickens, ducks and geese. The domestic animals kept are cats and dogs. The names of our cows are Gregity, Blackie, Hetty and Kitty. When I am driving home the cows I say, "Bill up and chae, chae" When they enter the byre I say, "Up to your places". Our byre holds three cows and they are tied by means of a chain. There is a long stick stretching from one wall to the other and in every cow's place there is a stake. The stake is placed in the ground and tied at the top
