  2. There is a fort in Ballaghanea known as Smith's Fort or "Lios na gCat". It is built round with stones and earth. There is a drain on the outside of it. It is said that a man named Duffy took some of the stones from the fort to build a ditch. Every time he built the ditch it fell. He left the ditch there till the next day. When he went out the next day the stones were back in the fort.
