  1. Our landlord's name was Mr. Swanzy from Newry Co. Down, his Bailiff was Mr. William Kerr from Cornamahon, and his agent was Mr. Slater. Those were very unjust ment. They evicted one man known as Joe Smith of Drumavaddy. He was evicted in the month of November on a cold frosty night. He lived in Shannons barn for a short time, he then went up to the mountain and built an old hut, there he stayed until he got a house in Shana
    The landlord he called on day for the rent. I told him mo money I had besides it's not fair to as me to pay, for the times are awfully bad. He was not content without getting some rent. He pulled his grey whiskers with a frown. Says he I'll take half and I let a big laugh, go and get your big lobby washed down
