- Long ago the breakfast was taken in the Brides house. When the breakfast was served. They went away riding on horse back or in side cars. They visited all the neighbouring towns. They stood at every public house and danced. They had fiddlers with them. Then the Bride and groom went to Dublin and spent a week there. Then they came home and had a dance in the groom's house.
The Bride did not go home that night. She stayed in her parents house. After a week she went home to her husbands house. That night there was a spree in her husbands house. Everybody that was at this spree was expected to bring a bottle of whiskey. This spree was called the Brides Drink.
The boys dressed in straw the night of the wedding and when they came in they began to shout "Come on with the stout" and (that is called) these boys were called gráinnes(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
