   It is said he died of a broken heart on account of his betrayal. After his death there wasn't much stir until Michael David founded the “Land League”. The first thing the people here gained by this was the abatement of the rent, the evictions not as plentiful, and the getting back of their farms. As the farmers had permission to sell their land now, many of them sold their property at as much money that that would bring them to a foreign country.

   There was a branch of the Land League in Glangevlin The famous Charles S. Parnell and Michael Davitt held a meeting in Blacklion. There are some of them living yet who took part in the Land League. They who took part in the Land League would take out anyone that would pay rent and dip them in the river. These men were called '' Moonlighters. '' They used to fire shots over their heads also. They used to take them out at night also. There were plenty of families in this district put out of their homes.
