  1. St Fortchern
This holy well is in the townsland of Killoughternane, in the parish of Bagenalstown. It is situated on O'Connells land.
About fifty years ago and later crowds used to come there every Sunday bringing invalids and many cures were done.
Up to the present day crutches and other articles are to be found near the well. There is also ruins of an Oratory near by, where the saint used to pray when on earth.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
