    There was an under ground passage under the Barron from this castle to Dinn- Roich the residence of the Kings of Leinster in ancien times. Some say that Catholics were persecuted in this castle by the English.

  2. It is situated on mound over looking the river Barron. It was the residence of the Ancient Kings of Leinster. The palace was a wooden structure, and one night when there was a great feast in progress the castle was burned
