    Local Cures
    Sore Eyes
    (1) Wash in cold tea.
    (2) If you have a sty on your eye, get a gooseberry thorn, and prick it with it, and the matter will come out.
    (3) Wash in Boric powder.
    Smoke a cigarette and let the smoke go into your eyes.
    Whooping Cough
    (1) Two people of the same name that are married have a cure for the Whooping Cough.
    (2) If you met a man with a pie bald horse, an asked him for a cure for the Whooping cough, whatever he tells you to do will cure the cough.
    (3) Steam from boiling tar is a cure for the Whooping Cough.
    (4) Scalded buttermilk with butter in it.
    (5) A posthumous child has a cure for the Whooping cough.
    Whitlow
    (1) Dip it in potato water.
    (2) Poultice it with bread and water.
    Earache
    (1) Pour in heated castor oil.
    (2) Rub it with Holy Water.
    (3) For Deafness put a small snail into a bottle in which there is a drop of water. After nine days take it out and put it into your ear and deafness is cured.
