    The head of the tomb had carved representations of the Crucifixion, at foot were armorial bearings. Portions which formed the head and sides are now built into wall of vault on outside and the foot portion is placed over the entrance door to the Chapel.
    In the townland of Dunfierth there stood an old castle none of which remains, no patron Saint is remembered.
    St Carthach Bishop, pupil, and successor of St Kieran of Saigir appears to have preached Christianity in this locality.
