I do not know of any story of the holy family of any use but that the robin is said to be Our Lord's pet bird. It is said that the red breast of the robin is the mark of a drop of blood that fell from Our Lord's wounds. How it happened was that when Our Lord was dying the robin came to pick the thorns off his head and a drop of Sacred Blood fell on her breast. Birds are very cute: On Good Friday no birds ever sing exept the robin. When she sings it is said she is guided by God to do that.
