  1. In this locality people strongly believe in many strange things about certain days.
    They say that if anyone or any animal is born on a Whit Sunday he or it is sure to kill someone. They say that if an animal is born Whit Sunday the owner of the animal drowns it.
    They say that the thirteenth of a is very unlucky. It is said that March is the luckiest month in which to be born. Christmas Day is also a lucky day on which to be born.
    It is very unlucky to throw out water or eggshells on a May Morning.
    It is said that on the eighth of November all the millers stop their mills for that day on account of it being the feast of St, Martin, and because St Martin was ground up in a mill. On the Eve of the same day people kill a hen or some animal to draw blood in honour of his death.
    It is very unlucky to get married on a Friday or a Sunday.
