  1. The salmon fishing on the River Slaney begins on the 1st of April. On this day it is a custom to have the boats blessed. These boats are blessed in Killurin, by the parish priest of Glynn.
Long ago the people used to come out from Wexford to look at the priest blessing them. This custom has been probably going on for 150 years.
    We celebrate before Lent too.
We make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. In every house in Wexford this is done. On the Eve of All Saints children play "Snap-apple." This played by the children ducking for apples in a tub or bath. This is a good game.
Sometimes we play acrobats. We stand on our heads and so on.
This custom has been probably going on for 150 years.
