    -ly tell everybody that if he or she kills a swallow, robs her nest, or hurt any of her belongings, he or she is sure to meet misfortune : the cows on his own farm if he have any, or the cows on the nearest farmer's place will milk blood. If this bird flies low it is a sign of rain. If she flies high it is a sign of fine weather.
    There are sayings about the robin also. It is said that the red breast of the Robin was caused by a drop of blood that dropped from Our Savioue's wounds when He was in His Passion. She is also said to be His pet bird. The Robins in this district are very tame and are in the habit of coming in to houses. The people always treat them kindly and give them crumbs of bread to eat.
    There are birds very common in this district called "The Blackstairs." These birds live mostly in the Blackstair mountains and hence their name. When they appear in this locality it is said to be a sign of cold, hard weather. The real name of this bird is the starling
