  1. Carrigbyrne
Composed by a man named Fortune of Courtdale, Raheen, Enniscorthy, one day in bed, on the eve of his departure for America.
    i
    Farewell, Carrigbyrne for ever
Dear home of my childhood adieu.
Since fortune has doomed me to sever,
The Emerald fields from my view
No more on thy rocks shall I wander
When once I was happy and free
    Absent afar I'll be fonder,
Carrigbyrne, my heart lies in thee
    ii
    Farewell, Carrigbyrne, for ever.
Where oft' I had many a spree
But now I am leaving in sorrow
    Carrigbyrne schoolmates I love thee.
It's sad to bring to recollection
The bright scenes of youth fills my mind
