  1. There are many Festival Customs in this district.
    On St Patricks day the shamrock is worn and the graves in Grange graveyard near Kilmore are dressed.
    On the 29th of June there is always a
    Feis in Rathangan.
    On Shrove Tuesday pancakes are made in every house.
    On Easter Saturday the children go around for their Eastereggs.
    On May Day a may bush is stuck up in the ground and the children gather around it and there is a big party. The bush is decorated with flowers. After the party the children dance and sing around it
    after that the bush is put on fire.
    On Hallowe'en many games are played and stories are told.
