  1. "As old as Kate Carneys cat."
    This is an old saying that the people in this district use when they forget the age of any person or thing. They say it is as old as Kate Carneys cat because that cat which she had was said to be very old.
    "Bad luck to Harvey."
    When things are going on very well and then something unexpected turns up and everything goes wrong people say "Bad luck to Harvey." That proverb is used in Co Wexford.
