  1. There are over eighty crosses in Brandy cross in a tree and there are over eighty at the bottom of Grange hill. When a funeral goes to Grange the relatives of the dead person bring two crosses and place one of them in the tree and carry the other one to be placed above the dead person's head. If the funeral is going through Kilmore the cross is placed in Brandy Cross and if it is going through Sarshill they will leave the cross at the bottom of Grange hill. This custom is very old but I do not know the origin of it.
