make hats out of straw. People of the same name lived in Boderon who also made hats.
A man named Johnnie Hayden made baskets about twenty years ago. He used to travel around from house to house making baskets. He used to get white sallies and twist them and make the basket.

  2. About fifty years ago the farmers in our locality manured their land with lime which they burned in old kilns. They had to go to the lime stone quarries in Dunkit in the County Waterford and bring them by boat to Campile. Then the farmers had to burn the lime in kilns, and leave it burning there for a week. The fire was put out then and the lime taken away and spread it on their land.
