    came in on the land if we were going to have rain. When the robin would (ring?) in the butt of the three it would be going to rain.
    The Animals;
    The dog would eat grass if it was going to rain. The sheep and cattle would go to the shelter. The cat would sit with her back to the fire.
    Natural Features:
    If it was going to rain the mountains and hills would appear nearer. If we were going to have fine weather the mountains would appear far away.
    A rainbow is for bad weather.
    A rainbow at night is the sailors delight,
    A rainbow at noon is the sailors doom,
    A rainbow is the sailors warning.
    When the dust would rise off the road it would be a sing of rain. The sea would look black if it was going to rain. When the fog would get heavy it would rain.
    The Insects:
    The crickets would chirp if it was going to rain,
    The cricket too now (?)she (sings?,
    Puts on the hearth with velvet (?),
    Sits wiping o'er her whiskers (?)
    The Smoke
    The smoke would go to the ground if it was going to rain. If the smoke went up straight we would have fine weather.
