  1. 1. There was once a man working in Grillagh mill named Jim Murray of Corteen and it is said that he often carried forty stone of oats up to the mill door. He was a man about five foot four inches in height and the bag used to be down to the ground on him.
    2. A famous man for dancing and singing and for good sport was old Jim Gerety that lived in clonanny about ten years ago.
    3. A famous man for running and jumping was old Mike Mullooley of Derryadd who died about ten year's ago. He won the old aged pensioner's race at a sports in Killashee.
    4. Billy Harris Derryadd, Killashee was a great (was a great) walker, it is said that he walked to Dublin one time with a cow. He was also a great man for lifting heavy weights. One day he was in a mill and there was a very big bag of oats to be carried out and none of the men were able to carry it only Billy. It is said there were forty five stone's in it.
    5. Thomas McHugh Derryohill, Killashee, was a great mower. He would bring out the children to tie the oats when he would
