  1. In the year 1917 in April of that year my father was sowing some deal trees in the garden. He was digging and about four feet down he found something sounded like iron. He dug for some time around it and found it was a sword in the shield. When it was taken out the sword was as bright as bright as when it was bought though the shield was rusty. He brought it in and we have it in the house yet.
