There is a story told that a priest was discovered in the penal times concealed in a chimney in Mosstown. A crow or jackdaw that perched on the chimney was the means of betraying the hiding place to the soldiers. The priest cursed the crow and said that a crow would never make her nest in Mosstown from that time.
