  1. Long ago the people were great for having cures.
    They had a great cure for warts, when you would have warts, the first time you would see a snail to lift him and rub him on the wart in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, then hang him on a thorn and by the time that he would be withered away the wart would be withered away.
    They had another great cure for chin-cough. When a man and woman got married of the same name. They got a little cake or biscuit and the man and woman took three little bites each in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. They gave the rest of it to the child who had the chin cough and it was better in a few days. There is a man named James Mc Garry Cloughan, Moydow, Co Longford who has a great cure for ring worm.
    It is an ointment he makes he wouldn't tell anyone what he makes it from.
