  1. Not very far from where I live there is the ruins of an old house which belonged t a man named Ferry.
    It was situated in the towns-land of Toneen. Long ago the people of this locality used to ramble to this old house to play cards. There was only one apartment in this old house. He used to have big stones inside for the ramblers to sit on at night.
    This house was made from mud and rushes and some stones.
    It fell about twenty five years ago and was never rebuilt. The walls are still to be seen there.
    When the house fell, Terry went into the poor-house in Longford where he remains yet.
