  1. In olden times people always made their bread with either oats or wheat and it was grown locally they also put some flour in it. People always baked their own bread and very seldom had to buy any.
    Other bread that they maade were potato cake and Boxty bread and oaten-meal bread.
    Oaten-meal cake was made mostly by the country people and they also made wheaten cakes. A wheaten cake was made with wheat, bread-soda, salt and a small grain of flour. They were all mixed together and wet with milk
