    was on his last, they had time and no more to administer the last sacrament. It was the devil up to another of his tricks, for when they were returning there was no sign of the gold.
    There is another well in Mill Road called the Pound well. It was so called because when the cattle were seized they were brought down to the pound, this was a field with pailings all around and the well in the middle. The pailings have long since gone but the well is still there.
