The local roads are known in my district as the "Newline", which is the main road to Navan, the "Ladies" road which is called a bye road leads into Navan also. the "Lough" road leads to the bog, the "Lower" road which is the main road from Kells to Navan, and the "New" road which is the main road from Athboy to Navan, the "Well" road which is a bye road leads to Navan.
    Some of these old roads were made in the penal days by the labouring men who got fourpence a day for making them.
    The high meadow which was an ancient pass way over to the school and chapel, the old people used to have it for a short way over to hear mass in the penal days, it is used yet by children going to Bohermeen school and going to mass.
