  1. There is only one forge in our district and it is on the border of the parish.
    The man who owns it is Micheal Connor, and his people are there for many years.
    It is situated on the main road from Navan to Athboy. It is a small stone built forge with a slated roof it has a large door with an arch overhead.
    There is one fire place in it and the bellows are large and are worked by a chain.
    The smith's work is shoeing horses and donkeys, making and repairing farm implements such as harrows, gates etc long ago there were more of these things done but now they are mostly bought in the shops.
